A Man and His Dream: Kemet Alston’s Photography Journey

Kemet Alston is a published photographer based in Atlanta, GA, who prides himself in creating, editing, and formulating art for each one of his clients. His photography focuses on fashion, street, special events, and more! Each snapshot he takes captures a significant moment in time, giving his subject(s) their time to shine.

He has had the pleasure of working with various notable artists/models and taking photos for many significant events in the city of Atlanta. In addition to that, he has even received magazine publications.

Let's take it back to where it all started: Alston found his true passion and knack for photography when he traveled to Africa in high school. Being in Africa made him understand how imperative it was to capture moments while he was that far away from home.

Soon after he returned, he would receive his first professional camera, a DSLR Canon. It was given to him by his grandfather, and he would then join the yearbook committee at his school and use it.

After graduating high school, Alston furthered his education and studied Mass Communication in college. During this time, he still remained loyal to his photography aspirations and became even more skilled in his craft as time progressed.

His grandfather would again help him by investing in the 5DMarkiii. Having a camera of this stature made an impact on his quality and it showed through the images he produced.

Furthermore, Alston says his aunt plays a vital role in his career today. She viewed his photos from Africa and became enamored with his style of photography and skills. After this recognition, he decided to take his craft to the next level and would eventually turn his hobby into a full-time job.

What was once a hobby is now the very thing that pays his bills. Today, he owns Kemet Alston Photography and has employed many others in his business.

Kemet Alston encourages others to follow their dreams and reach for the stars in whatever they wish to do
